1st day of daily writing on blog commitment :-p

Hey all!
So last night I had a long talk with the Lord. And today I got up and put that talk into practice. I actually got up and did my devotions. It was amazing the blessing that I received from putting the Lord first in my day.
I had started reading the book of Psalms (plus my regular devotions) and I had the wonderful idea to start at the end of the book and read to the beginning instead of vice versa. Why you ask? Because I can not count the multitudes of times I have started to read the Psalms and stopped before I even reached Psalm 100! So I decided not to do that. Anywho, so I was reading Psalm 145 and just was overwhelmed by how AWESOME our God is! Check these verses out:

17 The LORD is righteous in all His ways,
Gracious in all His works.
18 The LORD is near to all who call upon Him,
To all who call upon Him in truth.
19 He will fulfill the desire of those who fear Him;
He also will hear their cry and save them.
20 The LORD preserves all who love Him,
But all the wicked He will destroy.
21 My mouth shall speak the praise of the LORD,
And all flesh shall bless His holy name
Forever and ever.
Psalm 145:17-21

Just something to mull over :)

Hey all,
So a for awhile before I turned 18 I strove to blog everyday. I think I am going to start that up again. My goal is to blog everyday until I leave for camp this summer. Why did I decide to do this? Well since I am at home for 2 more weeks I have been thinking ways to put my time to good use. Sadly, I have not been as good a steward of my time as I had hoped I would. I am the kind of person that does not do good without a scedule. Frankly, being at home for 3 weeks is a really really big challenge for me.
Last night at church Dad was teaching out of Ephesions 5:15-17:
"See then that you walk circumspectly, not as fools but as wise, redeeming the time, because the days are evil.
Therefore do not be unwise, but understand what the will of the Lord is. 18 And do not be drunk with wine, in which is dissipation; but be filled with the Spirit"

We had a very interesting discussion about how we needed to be making the best use out of our time until a: we are taken to be with the Lord b: we die.
The more we talked about it the more the Holy Spirit convicted me. One lady brought up an interesting point about verse 18 where it is talking about not being drunk with wine. She said that there are so many other things that we get "drunk" on. THings that get our focus of Christ, that get us thinking unclearly...things like whatever idols we put before the Lord. They can be innocent but if we have allowed them to take over our lives...then they need to go.
So I have covenented in my heart to make better use of my time; and that includes putting more into this blog. My dream is to reach many many people and encourage them in the Lord but also challenge them to have a more intimate relationship with Jesus. I realized that I can not challenge people in their walk with the Lord if I am not walking with Him as well.

Onto other news :)
I now have my own personal copy of "Fireproof" and it is a collector's addition! :) I love that movie (and the book based on the movie) by the way :) If you have not seen it I HIGHLY RECCOMEND IT!
Do you like my new look for the blog? It took me all day to do it! I love blogging can you tell?
I am off to bed! Blessings :)

Under Construction!!!!!!!

Please bear with me :) :) :)

Randomness (is that even a word?)

Hey all :)
So tonight I watched my 1st Superbowl ever at Laura's house. It was a lot of fun even though our team lost :( But that is OK (honestly I had never really watched football before and was completely lost!).
I am just being reminded over and over of God's faithfulness in this past year. On our way to the Olive Garden the other day our family was reminiscing about how far the Lord has brought us. IT WAS AMAZING!
Just thinking about how after 2 years having Cesar over for dinner/english lessons every other friday to a huge Bible study every friday night at the cafe WITH A SPANISH INTERPRETER. GOD IS SO GOOD!
THen just thinking about the people the Lord has brought into our life through Wyoming Church. We are just so so blessed...God is so good.
WE SERVE AN AWESOME GOD!!!!!!!
What do you have to praise HIm for?

Just when you think you know...

I love the saying:
"You want to make God laugh? Tell Him your plans." I was reading through my journal last night and I broke my foot on Saturday, November 1, 2008. Well almost 3 months later I thought that I was fine. I mean my foot hurt a bit after I got the walking cast off but I really did not think about it that much.
I thought that things were back to normal and while I knew that I needed to be careful, I started excercising again and doing things too soon. I thought it would be fine even when my foot started to hurt I would just wait it out and then go back to being active.
This went on for awhile; untill the pain started to get too much to bear...that is when I went back to the doctor. I had a million plans and then I learned that I probably had a stress fracture last week. Back came the boot (walking cast) and I was sent for a bone scan. THe bonescan took an entire morning. It was incredibly boring :) It was kinda cool though cause I had a good talk with the technicians. Anywho, so I went back to the doctors yesterday and found out that I do not have a stress fracture. Good news right?
Heh, then I found out that I had nerve damage.
Nerve Damage:
~Pain Medicine:
It knocks me out. I took a 3 1/2 hour nap today and woke up absolutely exhausted still! It dulls the pain though which is a good thing considering that last night I was in tears because it felt like my right foot from the knee down was on fire. It hurt worse then when I broke it!
~Walking boot is back on.
~Physical Therapy:
I loved it. I went for the 1st time today and they are all so nice and the Doctor gave me excercises to do 2x's a day which will help get back my strength, mobility and help with the pain.
~I have to ice it 3x's a day (whoops haven't done that yet)
~I am off work for 3 weeks. AHHHHHHHHHHH!!!! That will be the hardest thing for me I think...most people would love it, but I have such a short attention span so it will be interesting.

So yeah, it was a rough day yesterday :-p I am happy though cause this means that I will be able to spend so much time with the Lord and with my family...It will be good :)
Oh, and you will probably be hearing from me alot in the next 3 weeks :-p
Blessings to you all!

Our day with Aly and some of the Wyoming Youth Group Kids

A quick update ;0)

Hey all!
So, it has been a long long time since I have actually updated with what is going on in my life.
LOTS has been going on! So here we go...

#1: The shift key on my computor has kinda broke and while I can sort of deal with it not working all the time (it has its moments) if drives me up the wall especially since I am prone to use it quite alot!

#2: I got the most awesome God-given oppurtunity to be able to write for an up and coming girls magazine that is due out hopefully this spring/summer. It is going to be put out by a group of people from a huge church in Denver, CO and we are praying that it will be able to reach this entire nation. So, I am in the midst of writing 2 articles (one I already had done). I am so excited about this oppurtunity to lift up Christ and His glory! I am praying that it will challenge and motivate girls to recklessly abandon their lives to Christ. We shall see what happens :)

#3: We have really been getting incredibly close to the Wyoming Church Youth Group. It is so awesome to have kids our age that are constantly pushing and encouraging us towards the Lord. We all went to the cafe this past saturday after they spent the whole day with us. THAT WAS A TON OF FUN!!!! I am going to do a post with pics from it :)

#4: Well...bad news about the foot. I went back to the doctors yesterday because my foot had really been bothering me and had never really healed. Plus the fact that I went a little bit overboard...like running on a treadmill. YES I ADMIT IT! I paid for it too! Anywho, so I found out I probably have a stress fracture...sigh. I had a bone scan today and will find out the results tomorrow...so yeah, prayer would be appreciated :)

#5: I HAVE AN AWESOME OPPURTUNITY THIS SUMMER!!!!! I have been accepted to be a counselor at Camp Lamoka for about 2 1/2 months this summer :) I am really really excited to see how the Lord works! So yeah, I am very excited :)

And you are now up to date!
Blessings to you all :)

Lady in Waiting...

"Lady in Waiting
is not about finding the right man,
but becoming the right woman.
The lady in waiting
recklessly abandons herself
to the Lordship of Christ,
diligently uses her single days,
trusts God with unwavering faith,
demonstrates virtue in daily life,
loves God with UNRESTRICTED devotion,
stands for physical and emotional purity,
lives in security,
responds to life in contentment,
makes choices based on her convictions,
and waits patiently for God
to meet her needs."

"We are not created to complete another but to complement. Completion is Jesus' responsibility and complementing is a woman's privilege. A woman not complete in Jesus will be a drain on her husband. Such a woman will expect her husband to fill the gap that only Jesus can fill."

A dear friend (thanks Aly :-p) gave me a wonderful book entitled "Lady in Waiting" and I was reading it and these quotes really stuck out to me...so I thought I would share them :)

Hiding God's Word in my heart

The girls at Beth Moore's blog (the LPM blog in my links) have challenged us to memorize a new passage of Scripture every two weeks for a total of 24 passages this year. I am currently on my 2nd passage!
My passage of scripture for January 15st through January 31st is:

Commit your way to the LORD,
Trust also in Him,
And He shall bring it to pass.
He shall bring forth your righteousness as the light,
And your justice as the noonday.
Rest in the LORD, and wait patiently for Him;
Do not fret because of him who prospers in his way,
Because of the man who brings wicked schemes to pass.
Cease from anger, and forsake wrath;
Do not fret—it only causes harm.

Psalm 37:5-8 (NKJV)
