I WAS REALLY GOOD LAST NIGHT!!!!!!! DON'T BELIEVE THE PICTURES!!!!!

Here is what I did do:
I really did have a great time with Jen last night :) I had a wonderful time with the Lord. I actually went through and counted all my prayer journals since 2004 (that is when I started journaling) and I have completed 10 and have one that is really old but I still count it that makes 11 and then I am working on my 12th. Ok, that is kinda sad! :) What can I was 12 journals in 4 years...that is pretty good! And it is my outlet (I think that is what you call it!). The best thing about it is they are all prayer journals that I use to write letters to the Lord so I was happy to finally get them all out and count them!
I am starting a study in the book of Mark. Why? Well, Pastor Mike challenged me and Jen to go through the gospels and I decided that I would start in Mark. It is as simple as that! :)
Well...besides work and stuff...hmmm...that is all for now folks! Oh I am including a devotional that my friend sent me the other day. I thought it was good, you may not but hey it is my blog (I sound like a 2 year old!) and you don't have to read it! lol :) Blessings!

Nestled in His Arms

by Dr. Paul Chappell

“And he was in the hinder part of the ship, asleep on a pillow: and they awake him, and say unto him, Master, carest thou not that we perish? And he arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm. And he said unto them, Why are ye so fearful? how is it that ye have no faith?”
Mark 4:38–40
The only place to find peace in the midst of a storm is in the Maker of the storm.
Long ago, a man sought the perfect picture of peace. Not finding one that satisfied, he announced a contest to produce this masterpiece. The challenge stirred the imagination of artists everywhere, and paintings arrived from far and wide. Finally the great day of revelation arrived. The judges uncovered one peaceful scene after another, while the viewers clapped and cheered.

The tensions grew. Only two pictures remained veiled.

As a judge pulled the cover from one, a hush fell over the crowd. A mirror-smooth lake reflected lacy, green birches under the soft blush of the evening sky. Along the grassy shore, a flock of sheep grazed undisturbed. Surely this was the winner.
The man with the vision uncovered the second painting himself, and the crowd gasped in surprise. Could this be peace? A tumultuous waterfall cascaded down a rocky precipice; the crowd could almost feel its cold, penetrating spray. Stormy-gray clouds threatened to explode with lightning, wind and rain. In the midst of the thundering noises and bitter chill, a spindly tree clung to the rocks at the edge of the falls. One of its branches reached out in front of the torrential waters as if foolishly seeking to experience its full power.

A little bird had built a nest in the elbow of that branch. Content and undisturbed in her stormy surroundings, she rested on her eggs. With her eyes closed and her wings ready to cover her little ones, she manifested peace that transcends all earthly turmoil. Have you ever noticed the calming effect of nature? There’s nothing like taking a walk through a field, admiring the beauty of flowers, or sitting under the canopy of a large tree. God’s creation has a peaceful aura to it.
Sadly, sometimes nature’s peace can be disrupted by outside factors. But one place that is always peaceful is in the arms of God. No matter what storm or trial is going on, God always provides peace and rest.
When trials or storms come into your life, where do you run? Do you seek refuge from a friend, a certain place, or somewhere else? The disciples discovered that the only person who could calm the seas and give them peace was the Maker of the storm—God.

I don’t know what trial or storm you face today, but I do know that God is willing to give you peace. Just as the mother bird stretched out her wings to protect her children, God wants to stretch out His arms and give you peace. Take time now to seek the peace of God. Refuse to worry about the trial, and let Him fill your heart with the peace that passes all understanding.

Very Profound...

Logan is a 13 year-old boy who lives on a ranch in a very small town in Nebraska. Logan listens to Christian Radio station 89.3FM KSBJ which broadcasts from Houston, TX. Logan called the radio station distraught because he had to take down a calf . His words have wisdom beyond his years.

Since airing the audio of the phone call and now the making of the video clip, it has taken on a life of its own. People are forwarding it all over the world. We encourage you to share the love of Christ with anyone you can.

I can't think of a title...

How sad is that???? WOW! Ok, so mom and the kids are watching "Anne of Green Gables: The Sequal" and I am sitting in the big chair across from them and listening to it as I type :)

So today I was at work from 7:45am to 4pm. It was absolutely beautiful on my way to work this morning. The sun had just come up and the color of the leaves were absolutely gorgeous so when we got home me and Mom and Dad and Jen went to the state park but we ended up just outside it in a little hamlet and I took a billion (ok 91) pictures in like 20 minutes of all of us. It would have been perfect but Abby was working and Danny was hunting. So it was just the 4 of us.

Those are just a preview :) I actually decided to make a seperate photography blog Kit Kat Kate's Snapshots and I posted the rest of the pics there :) Sorry, it is pretty new so I don't have much up there yet!

So I am off to bed. AND IT IS ONLY 10:07!!!! YIKES! I am old. LOL :-p
Blessings to you all and good night!

Guess what I just did...

I cut my mom's hair! Yeah...obviously she must have been pretty desperate :-p Nah, It looks nice! (really)
So this is the 1st day that I work 2 weeks straight. Except for the 24th and 25th I will be at work everyday. It will look great on the paycheck :) What will I be doing on the 24th and 25th you ask? Taking my GED test. I got the book to study for it more in depth and I am telling you the thing is as thick as 3 telephone books.

So this past wednesday Jen and I had the chance to have a long talk with Pastor Mike (the pastor that leads the our youth group) about some stuff that we are praying about doing in the future (more on that later) and he said some stuff that really challenged me personally.
He told us that while we may have huge plans/dreams for the future to remember to persevere and grow in the day-to-day, sometimes seemingly mundane thing. To be in the Word, to be in prayer and to witness around here. So I started thinking and pondering and mulling that over in my head. I know that there is so much more time I could be spending in the Word and in prayer and I realized that before I went off to do something seemingly "big" for the Lord I needed to make sure that I was doing the "small" things. If that makes any sense at all :) Anyway, so I came home that night and was reading in 1 Timothy and come across these verses:

"Have nothing to do with godless myths and old wives' tales; rather, train yourself to be godly.
For physical training is of some value, but godliness has value for all things, holding promise for both the present life and the life to come.
Don't let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in life, in love, in faith and in purity."
1 Timothy 4: 7,8,12

I love how it says in verse 7 "train yourself in godliness". When I think of training I think of physical training...hard physical training. And then I think about what it would mean to do some hard spiritual training. It definately made me think and change some things in my life :) Just something to think about...

So the other day I came home and I was exhausted so I completely crashed and kinda sorta took a nap...kinda. My cat thinks that she owns my bed and she was sleeping on the bottom of my bed so I sprawled out besides her and tried to sleep and all the sudden she gets up and...walks over to me and climbs on my back and lays down. Don't believe me? Mom got the evidence...and I promise it wasn't staged!

Well that is it for now :) Have a very sweet nights sleep :) I work allll day tomorrow...have to be there at 7:45am sharp. Blessings to you all :)

200th Post and fall is here...

WHOA BABY! So, I have been blogging for 2 years and this is my official 200th post! Pretty neat stuff!

So today was a very interesting day. I slept in...really late...heh won't tell ya'll how late but hey I definately got my 8 hours in :-p And then I got up and got ready for work and went to work.

Well actually, today I was looking for a book and I happened to stumble across my last prayer journal. I have like 8 that are mostly from the past 2 years yeah I am obsessed (NOT REALLY). Anyway, so I started to read over it and I was struck with how faithful God has been to me over the past year.

Example: I had forgotten that one thursday night I went to Bible study (the one we have with our mennonite friends) which is every other thursday. After that study we break up in groups and pray and that week I had been struggling with the fact that I had no car or job and I desperately needed both. So, we prayed about it. 2 weeks later I was sitting in that same room praising the Lord because He had provided BOTH. My car and my job and the YMCA. In 2 weeks time! Anyway, so that was really neat to read over and just be reminded that God has been, is, and will be in control!

So I started my job at the YMCA on May 2, 2008. I read that in my journal and went "WHAT THAT IS IT???" It seriously feels like I have been there forever! I really do love my job and especially my bosses (one for cleaning and the one for the front desk).

So that brings me back to work today: Bob is my cleaning boss and Sally is my front desk boss (hah! that was weirdly worded). A few weeks ago I found out that Bob was retiring. WHICH IS GREAT! BUT really sad! So I was kinda wondering what my new boss will be like and all that jazz. So today, I found out that Sally got a different job and her last day will be the 17th. THAT was REALLY sad. Sally holds our building together (I am completely serious) and it will be a huge adjustment to someone new. I will miss her alot. She was very motherly and looked out for me...maybe it has something to do with the fact that I am the youngest person working there and everyone else is old enough to be my parents and some are old enough to be my grandparents but hey! No, she is an amazing lady and I really really enjoyed working with her. We have had a lot of good talks and she is really the best 1st ever boss that anyone could ever wish for...I am glad for her though. Her new job is closer to home but boy will I miss her! So that kinda bummed me out today :( I will now be getting 2 new bosses! Wow...

Ok, so besides that my day was pretty much normal. Me and Laura hung out tonight. We worked out together (I do work at a fitness gym I do need to use that sometime lol) and then we went to Tim Hortons for coffee. Of course I ended up getting a raspberry hot smoothie which, for your information, is one of the best drink creations on earth. The funny thing is I took to big of a sip and burned my mouth. I almost spit it out all over Laura but I restrained myself because how would that have looked to the cute guy and his friend sitting in the corner? hehe :-p Then I got home and watched Full house episodes with the family (it is our new favorite tv show) and now I am writing this and then I am off to bed!

Before that though...Fall is here! And I just randomly went and walked around in our woods one day (just happened to bring along the camera NOT that I carry it with me everywhere I go HONEST) and this is what I was walking through:

So that is my story for today :) I am wiped out! I need to sleep cause I have to babysit very early tomorrow morning! Blessings to you all and good night :)

14 years old

Hey all!
Yup, Danny is now 14 years old. Last night we had a party for him which was a ton of fun but really exhausting :)
Me and Jen had a really fun time "cleaning" the house (it took forever! but was worth it...) while the rest of the fam was at work (abby) and shopping (the rest). So the house did get cleaned BUT me and Jen are taking all the credit. Ok, ok, not ALL the credit but hey they would have been lost without us! See the looks of perseverance and determination on our faces????? And no...my hair did not stay that way the rest of the day :-p

After we got the house spotless the people came and we ate and took pics and ate some more. It was really fun! Hehe :) And I am going to stop rambling and load the pics! And then I will..I don't know what I am going to do this afternoon. I might take a nap! That would be great! Boy you know you are getting up in years when...lol
