Patience is a virtue...that I don't have enough of!

Actually it is also one of the fruits of the Spirit (Gal. 5:22-23) which as Christians we should be bearing. With that in mind...the Lord has been teaching me to wait PATIENTLY on Him AND surrender my all.

So if you do not know me it would not take you long to realize that I am NOT a very patient person! I have always been the one to get an idea and then go do it which when you have not brought it before the Lord, really isn't the best thing. The Lord started teaching me a lesson in patience when I broke my foot on November 1st. All the sudden I was really unable to move ESPECIALLY not quickly. So, I had to slow down a bit, but then the cast came off, I got back to my go-for-it-without thinking most of the time ways. I started acting as though my foot was healed (when it most definately WAS NOT) and because of that I developed some complications and now am in my 3rd week of not working and being back in the cast with not much mobility.

Unable to go and do my normal things that I thought were "necessary" I sat before the Lord and realized that He was trying to teach me a lesson. Through various happenings ,that would take forever to type out, I realized that I was so intent on what I thought that I "needed" that I was jumping ahead (in some areas WAY ahead) of were the Lord wanted me. I had allowed Him to write my life story but I had been penciling in what I thought were things that He had skipped over. NOT GOOD TO DO!

One thing that I have always wanted to be is a wife and mother. The Lord started asking me a few months ago if HE was enough for me. The sad thing was that for the longest time He was not. When I truly surrended my ALL to Him however He did become enough.

"Lady in Waiting
is not about finding the right man,
but becoming the right woman.
The lady in waiting
recklessly abandons herself
to the Lordship of Christ,
diligently uses her single days,
trusts God with unwavering faith,
demonstrates virtue in daily life,
loves God with UNRESTRICTED devotion,
stands for physical and emotional purity,
lives in security,
responds to life in contentment,
makes choices based on her convictions,
and waits patiently for God
to meet her needs."

The whole waiting patiently for God to meet my needs...yeah, God is so faithful and I am in just in awe that He would love and care for someone like me :) So I am purposing in my heart to continue to live each and every single second of my day for my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ but ALSO waiting patiently on Him for His timing of things. I am so grateful I serve a patient God!

Ok, so I am done rambling now. I think ya'll (no I am not southern I just love saying that) will be hearing alot about this kind of thing the next few days (since it is the lesson the Lord is currently teaching me!) so please bear with me :)

Today, is one of those slow days...I am going to be going back to work this upcoming week so that will be exciting! I will only be working two days a week when I start back (because I have been gone for so long) but hopefully I will start getting my regular hours again soon. It is just another oppurtunity to wait on the Lord and trust Him to take care of my needs :)

Youth group is tonight! Well, Awana for me and Andrew and Youth group for all the other people that are still in high school :-p I can hardly wait to see everyone :) OH! And we are taking a trip up to Word of Life Bible Institute this Friday. Jac, her mom, Scott, his mom, Abby, Andrew, and I are all going up together. We are leaving at like 4am. I didn't even know that was a time! lol :-p

Enough of my rambling! Have a blessed day the Lord is the One who gave it to you! Have you thanked Him for it? Just something to ponder...

Hey this is really something worth checking out...

Hey all,
SO I don't know if you have noticed all the new links and such that I have put up a lately but I do encourage you to check some of them out :)

One of the neat websites that I came across was the Crossed-Eyes Blog and Webzine which is just full of amazing articles written by young people for young people about the Lord and becoming more like Him. On there was an article entitled "Two Different Love Stories" which was about relationships primarily from a guys perspective.

Because it was primarily for a guy Lauren wrote a 2nd part to it entitled "Look No Hands" which is about relationships from a girls perspective.

As a girl (:-p) It was so neat to be reminded to not only wait for my future-husband-to-be but to also guard my heart jealously for him. Not only to be pure physically but EMOTIONALLY (which is something that I think most girls really struggle with).

SO besides that the Lord has been teaching me some really interesting lessons this past week.

Modesty has been a huge one. You may notice all the new links on my sidebar addressing modesty-Girls I encourage you to go check them out! I think that the most important truth I have been learning about modesty this week is that it is not about a list of rules and regulations but it is about an attitude of the heart. It is about wanting to honor Christ 1st and foremost but it is also about helping our brothers to guard their eyes. Because of that I first had a long talk with the Lord and then we went through my closet. It was definately a time of heart searching and re-evaluating.

A few years ago I had made the decision to wear skirts and skirts only (except when I absolutely HAD to wear pants for decencies sake!). The sad part was that I thought that in order to be modest meant that I had to be as plain as possible and frumpish. That lasted about a year and then I left it all behind me and did not go near skirts for about two years.

This past weekend I felt the Lord again encouraging me to wear primarily skirts again. But, there were some changes in my attitude. I realized that in order to be modest and feminine DID NOT mean that I had to make myself as plain as possible. In fact, now that I have been striving to honor God in my dress I look more like a young lady (hair and make-up done, dressed tastefully not my normal grungy look :-p) than I ever did before!

Do I believe that it is wrong to wear pants sometimes? Absolutely not! I have realized that is not about what I am or what I am not going to wear. It is about an attitude of the heart. That is where it all stems from! From wanting to honor and glorify Jesus in that area of my life.

So yes there are new links up on modesty and Girls I would urge you to check them out...they have some really really neat stuff in them!

"I’m waiting
I’m waiting on You, Lord
And I am hopeful
I’m waiting on You, Lord
Though it is painful
But patiently, I will wait"

THat is from the song "While I am Waiting" by John Waller (scroll to the bottom of my page if you want to listen to it in my player).

This weekend I have realized how painful it truly can be to wait on the Lord. Loneliness, jealousy, wondering when it will be my turn-these were all emotions that ran through my heart this past weekends at one time or another. I was empty and I came before the LOrd and begged Him to fill me. It was at that moment that He showed me something.

All my life I have looked for my completeness in what others thought of me. My worth as a person was measured in how well I was liked and what other people thought about/told me. THIS WEEKEND I FINALLY REALIZED HOW WRONG THAT IS!

I had been looking for completeness/something to fill the void in my life in a guy, friends, family, ministry oppurtunities, you name it I looked there.

Christ was the love of my life (or so I thought) but He was not the complete and total center and source of my life. He showed me that HE was the only person/thing that could ever ever ever complete me and fill the void that I had been trying to fill so long in my life.

When I realized that...I cannot even explain the joy that just...radiated through my being. It was as though I had REALLY began to live. Do I still struggle? YES! Is it still lonely sometimes? YES! Is Jesus worth it? YES A HUNDRED TIMES OVER!

SO how about you? Have you been trying to fill you life with everything but the One that is the ONLY one that can truly satisfy? Just thought I would give ya'll something to think about :)

So I have not posted pictures in awhile so here are some from a few weekends ago when Jac, Laura, Andrew and Sean came over to our house. We went outside and FROZE (seriously it was like ---------0 out)! But we did manage to get some really cute pics :)

These were all taken by Andrew (as he loves to remind me :-p) and they are us girls. We have adopted two new sisters if you haven't noticed :)

Last minute (literally)

Free hours,
Not wasted by me,
using my free time,
To serve only Thee.
Realizing how temporary free time will be
Never to regret a missed opportunity,
For others to be blest,
Through yielded me.

Some recent ponderings

“What does it mean?

To really live for Jesus

What does it mean?

To abandon all else in pursuit of Him

What does it mean?

When I say 'I am surrendered'

What does it mean?

To cry out in Jesus name

What is the difference

Between normal and set apart?

What is the difference

Between staying or going?

What is the difference

Between living for or dying to self?

When we say

'I am a Christian'

Do we really mean it?

When we say

'I follow Jesus'

Is it just sometimes or every step of the way?

When we say

'I gave it to Him'

Was it all or just a part?

When we say

'I will die for Him'

Do we mean just literally or can we die to self each day?

When we say

'I serve the Living Savior'

Is is just words or do we live it out each day?”

Something to think about...

“Let no one despise your youth, but be an example to the believers in word , in conduct, in love, in spirit, in faith, in purity.”

1 Timothy 4:12

1st day of daily writing on blog commitment :-p

Hey all!
So last night I had a long talk with the Lord. And today I got up and put that talk into practice. I actually got up and did my devotions. It was amazing the blessing that I received from putting the Lord first in my day.
I had started reading the book of Psalms (plus my regular devotions) and I had the wonderful idea to start at the end of the book and read to the beginning instead of vice versa. Why you ask? Because I can not count the multitudes of times I have started to read the Psalms and stopped before I even reached Psalm 100! So I decided not to do that. Anywho, so I was reading Psalm 145 and just was overwhelmed by how AWESOME our God is! Check these verses out:

17 The LORD is righteous in all His ways,
Gracious in all His works.
18 The LORD is near to all who call upon Him,
To all who call upon Him in truth.
19 He will fulfill the desire of those who fear Him;
He also will hear their cry and save them.
20 The LORD preserves all who love Him,
But all the wicked He will destroy.
21 My mouth shall speak the praise of the LORD,
And all flesh shall bless His holy name
Forever and ever.
Psalm 145:17-21

Just something to mull over :)

Hey all,
So a for awhile before I turned 18 I strove to blog everyday. I think I am going to start that up again. My goal is to blog everyday until I leave for camp this summer. Why did I decide to do this? Well since I am at home for 2 more weeks I have been thinking ways to put my time to good use. Sadly, I have not been as good a steward of my time as I had hoped I would. I am the kind of person that does not do good without a scedule. Frankly, being at home for 3 weeks is a really really big challenge for me.
Last night at church Dad was teaching out of Ephesions 5:15-17:
"See then that you walk circumspectly, not as fools but as wise, redeeming the time, because the days are evil.
Therefore do not be unwise, but understand what the will of the Lord is. 18 And do not be drunk with wine, in which is dissipation; but be filled with the Spirit"

We had a very interesting discussion about how we needed to be making the best use out of our time until a: we are taken to be with the Lord b: we die.
The more we talked about it the more the Holy Spirit convicted me. One lady brought up an interesting point about verse 18 where it is talking about not being drunk with wine. She said that there are so many other things that we get "drunk" on. THings that get our focus of Christ, that get us thinking unclearly...things like whatever idols we put before the Lord. They can be innocent but if we have allowed them to take over our lives...then they need to go.
So I have covenented in my heart to make better use of my time; and that includes putting more into this blog. My dream is to reach many many people and encourage them in the Lord but also challenge them to have a more intimate relationship with Jesus. I realized that I can not challenge people in their walk with the Lord if I am not walking with Him as well.

Onto other news :)
I now have my own personal copy of "Fireproof" and it is a collector's addition! :) I love that movie (and the book based on the movie) by the way :) If you have not seen it I HIGHLY RECCOMEND IT!
Do you like my new look for the blog? It took me all day to do it! I love blogging can you tell?
I am off to bed! Blessings :)

Under Construction!!!!!!!

Please bear with me :) :) :)

Randomness (is that even a word?)

Hey all :)
So tonight I watched my 1st Superbowl ever at Laura's house. It was a lot of fun even though our team lost :( But that is OK (honestly I had never really watched football before and was completely lost!).
I am just being reminded over and over of God's faithfulness in this past year. On our way to the Olive Garden the other day our family was reminiscing about how far the Lord has brought us. IT WAS AMAZING!
Just thinking about how after 2 years having Cesar over for dinner/english lessons every other friday to a huge Bible study every friday night at the cafe WITH A SPANISH INTERPRETER. GOD IS SO GOOD!
THen just thinking about the people the Lord has brought into our life through Wyoming Church. We are just so so blessed...God is so good.
What do you have to praise HIm for?

Just when you think you know...

I love the saying:
"You want to make God laugh? Tell Him your plans." I was reading through my journal last night and I broke my foot on Saturday, November 1, 2008. Well almost 3 months later I thought that I was fine. I mean my foot hurt a bit after I got the walking cast off but I really did not think about it that much.
I thought that things were back to normal and while I knew that I needed to be careful, I started excercising again and doing things too soon. I thought it would be fine even when my foot started to hurt I would just wait it out and then go back to being active.
This went on for awhile; untill the pain started to get too much to bear...that is when I went back to the doctor. I had a million plans and then I learned that I probably had a stress fracture last week. Back came the boot (walking cast) and I was sent for a bone scan. THe bonescan took an entire morning. It was incredibly boring :) It was kinda cool though cause I had a good talk with the technicians. Anywho, so I went back to the doctors yesterday and found out that I do not have a stress fracture. Good news right?
Heh, then I found out that I had nerve damage.
Nerve Damage:
~Pain Medicine:
It knocks me out. I took a 3 1/2 hour nap today and woke up absolutely exhausted still! It dulls the pain though which is a good thing considering that last night I was in tears because it felt like my right foot from the knee down was on fire. It hurt worse then when I broke it!
~Walking boot is back on.
~Physical Therapy:
I loved it. I went for the 1st time today and they are all so nice and the Doctor gave me excercises to do 2x's a day which will help get back my strength, mobility and help with the pain.
~I have to ice it 3x's a day (whoops haven't done that yet)
~I am off work for 3 weeks. AHHHHHHHHHHH!!!! That will be the hardest thing for me I think...most people would love it, but I have such a short attention span so it will be interesting.

So yeah, it was a rough day yesterday :-p I am happy though cause this means that I will be able to spend so much time with the Lord and with my family...It will be good :)
Oh, and you will probably be hearing from me alot in the next 3 weeks :-p
Blessings to you all!

Our day with Aly and some of the Wyoming Youth Group Kids

A quick update ;0)

Hey all!
So, it has been a long long time since I have actually updated with what is going on in my life.
LOTS has been going on! So here we go...

#1: The shift key on my computor has kinda broke and while I can sort of deal with it not working all the time (it has its moments) if drives me up the wall especially since I am prone to use it quite alot!

#2: I got the most awesome God-given oppurtunity to be able to write for an up and coming girls magazine that is due out hopefully this spring/summer. It is going to be put out by a group of people from a huge church in Denver, CO and we are praying that it will be able to reach this entire nation. So, I am in the midst of writing 2 articles (one I already had done). I am so excited about this oppurtunity to lift up Christ and His glory! I am praying that it will challenge and motivate girls to recklessly abandon their lives to Christ. We shall see what happens :)

#3: We have really been getting incredibly close to the Wyoming Church Youth Group. It is so awesome to have kids our age that are constantly pushing and encouraging us towards the Lord. We all went to the cafe this past saturday after they spent the whole day with us. THAT WAS A TON OF FUN!!!! I am going to do a post with pics from it :)

#4: Well...bad news about the foot. I went back to the doctors yesterday because my foot had really been bothering me and had never really healed. Plus the fact that I went a little bit running on a treadmill. YES I ADMIT IT! I paid for it too! Anywho, so I found out I probably have a stress fracture...sigh. I had a bone scan today and will find out the results yeah, prayer would be appreciated :)

#5: I HAVE AN AWESOME OPPURTUNITY THIS SUMMER!!!!! I have been accepted to be a counselor at Camp Lamoka for about 2 1/2 months this summer :) I am really really excited to see how the Lord works! So yeah, I am very excited :)

And you are now up to date!
Blessings to you all :)

Lady in Waiting...

"Lady in Waiting
is not about finding the right man,
but becoming the right woman.
The lady in waiting
recklessly abandons herself
to the Lordship of Christ,
diligently uses her single days,
trusts God with unwavering faith,
demonstrates virtue in daily life,
loves God with UNRESTRICTED devotion,
stands for physical and emotional purity,
lives in security,
responds to life in contentment,
makes choices based on her convictions,
and waits patiently for God
to meet her needs."

"We are not created to complete another but to complement. Completion is Jesus' responsibility and complementing is a woman's privilege. A woman not complete in Jesus will be a drain on her husband. Such a woman will expect her husband to fill the gap that only Jesus can fill."

A dear friend (thanks Aly :-p) gave me a wonderful book entitled "Lady in Waiting" and I was reading it and these quotes really stuck out to I thought I would share them :)

Hiding God's Word in my heart

The girls at Beth Moore's blog (the LPM blog in my links) have challenged us to memorize a new passage of Scripture every two weeks for a total of 24 passages this year. I am currently on my 2nd passage!
My passage of scripture for January 15st through January 31st is:

Commit your way to the LORD,
Trust also in Him,
And He shall bring it to pass.
He shall bring forth your righteousness as the light,
And your justice as the noonday.
Rest in the LORD, and wait patiently for Him;
Do not fret because of him who prospers in his way,
Because of the man who brings wicked schemes to pass.
Cease from anger, and forsake wrath;
Do not fret—it only causes harm.

Psalm 37:5-8 (NKJV)

My Day (wow that was really not origional AT ALL!)
