Guess what I just did...

I cut my mom's hair! Yeah...obviously she must have been pretty desperate :-p Nah, It looks nice! (really)
So this is the 1st day that I work 2 weeks straight. Except for the 24th and 25th I will be at work everyday. It will look great on the paycheck :) What will I be doing on the 24th and 25th you ask? Taking my GED test. I got the book to study for it more in depth and I am telling you the thing is as thick as 3 telephone books.

So this past wednesday Jen and I had the chance to have a long talk with Pastor Mike (the pastor that leads the our youth group) about some stuff that we are praying about doing in the future (more on that later) and he said some stuff that really challenged me personally.
He told us that while we may have huge plans/dreams for the future to remember to persevere and grow in the day-to-day, sometimes seemingly mundane thing. To be in the Word, to be in prayer and to witness around here. So I started thinking and pondering and mulling that over in my head. I know that there is so much more time I could be spending in the Word and in prayer and I realized that before I went off to do something seemingly "big" for the Lord I needed to make sure that I was doing the "small" things. If that makes any sense at all :) Anyway, so I came home that night and was reading in 1 Timothy and come across these verses:

"Have nothing to do with godless myths and old wives' tales; rather, train yourself to be godly.
For physical training is of some value, but godliness has value for all things, holding promise for both the present life and the life to come.
Don't let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in life, in love, in faith and in purity."
1 Timothy 4: 7,8,12

I love how it says in verse 7 "train yourself in godliness". When I think of training I think of physical training...hard physical training. And then I think about what it would mean to do some hard spiritual training. It definately made me think and change some things in my life :) Just something to think about...

So the other day I came home and I was exhausted so I completely crashed and kinda sorta took a nap...kinda. My cat thinks that she owns my bed and she was sleeping on the bottom of my bed so I sprawled out besides her and tried to sleep and all the sudden she gets up and...walks over to me and climbs on my back and lays down. Don't believe me? Mom got the evidence...and I promise it wasn't staged!

Well that is it for now :) Have a very sweet nights sleep :) I work allll day tomorrow...have to be there at 7:45am sharp. Blessings to you all :)
