When God writes your life story: Chaper 3
The Chapter in a nutshell:
"To enter the endless frontier of a God-scripted life, we must gain a clear picture of our true destination. As modern Christians, we often aim out lives at the wrong targets. We aim to climb molehills and splash around in wading pools when God destined us to climb majestic mountain peaks and ford mighty oceans. God intends for us to scale the impassable mountainside of His holiness. He has called us to follow in the footsteps of Jesus Christ-a path no human being has ever been able to muster up the willpower of discipline to do. God crafted us to reach a destination in our lives that we are humanly unable to reach.
We must come face-to-face with our utter inability to take even one step into this endless frontier on our own. God desires to lift us up with His strong arms, take complete control of our lives, and tackle the rugged mountainous terrain on our behalf, while we lean our entire weight upon His solid chest. Without Him, we can do nothing."

So today was a very exhausting day. I was gone pretty much all day at work and when I got home I was just...exhausted both mentally and physically! But it actually turned out to be a good thing just because I decided to "unwind" by spending some time with the Lord. I sat down on the couch and just started to pray that the Lord would just grow me and stretch me and challenge me during my time in the Word. WOW did it happen!
I was reading that chapter in "When God Writes Your Life Story" and this quote just really jumped out at nme:
"God wants us to dream impossible dreams, and He never wants us to stop short of seeing them become reality. But along the way, He will teach us that the impossible is only made possible BY HIM. Human effort will never get us to the great heroic destination of God. But is we beckon the God of the impossible to take over and rescue our hapless lives, then the frontiers of Christlikeness can become a vibrant reality."
So I was thinking about becoming more like Christ in EVERYWAY. Lately the Lord has been quietly showing me some things in my life that I KNOW need to be done away with but I haven't wanted to because my flesh has been saying that those things were so miniscule that they really didn't matter BUT the Lord was showing me that these little things that "weren't a big deal" were affecting my walk with Jesus. So anyway, I was thinking about that and then I started to read the Word. I am going through a one year Bible and tonight I was reading in 2 Corinthians and these 2 verses really jumped out at me:
"What agreement is there between the temple of God and idols? For we are the temple of the living God. As God has said: 'I will live with them an dwalk among them, and I will be their God, and they will be my people.'"
~2 Corinthians 6:16
"Since we have these promises, dear friends, let us purify ourselves from EVERYTHING that cantaminates body and spirit, perfecting holiness out of reverence for God."
~2 Corinthians 7:1
I was really pondering the fact that I AM THE TEMPLE OF THE LIVING GOD. And then I was thinking about all of the "little things" that I had allowed to pollute my life and it just hurt to think that I had gotten so slack in the influences I allowed in. Anyway, so I was challenged to get out the little things in my life that were cluttering up my "temple". And I wrote out a list and I begged the Lord's forgiveness and totally decided to purpose in my heart to start striving to perfect holiness out of reverence for all the things that my wonderful Lord and Savior has done for me. I know that in and of myself...I don't stand a chance BUT that is when the Lord steps in and carries you through :)
So yeah, I am sorry that I haven't updated in so long! Life has been crazy! Labor day we had 2 families over and Emily and Nini came too so that was really fun!
So I had more pics...but sadly my computer is being slow and stupid and I HAVE TO GET SOME SLEEP! I am starting to have to prop my eyes open with toothpicks...that is gross. NEVER MIND!!!! See, I am making no sense...yup it is time for me to leave. Blessings to you all and Good Night :)

Hello,
Thanks for leaving a comment on my blog! :) And the site I got the backgrounds from is really easy to use...in fact I didn't use a template from PYzam because I couldn't figure out how to use it! All you have to do is copy some HTML into your sidebar via the layout page. :) Anyway, Thanks again for stopping by and I hope you have a very blessed day! :)
